2 out of 7 children in South Africa are orphans.
That amounts to 5.2 million children.
Abandonment of children is increasing, whilst adoption of children is decreasing.
Which means we are facing a catastrophe, as thousands of children land up homeless, with little hope and little future.
But if we can reach these children and raise them right, their lives can be transformed to make a difference in this world and for all of eternity.
What We Do
We are developing a Village to care for children who need family.
FAMILY
We are busy building houses that will accommodate a mother (or mother and father) whereby up to 6 children can be brought into family.
FACILITIES
The plan is to provide helpful amenities, including: a clinic, ECD Centre (Early Childhood Development), a library, sports fields, and vegetable garden.
FAITH-COMMUNITY
As we become a bigger, Jesus-loving community, the children can thrive in a healthy and holistic environment.
FOCUS
We want to build people of character in 5 key areas:
1. CHARACTER
We must raise our children to be people of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
2. COMPETENCE
We must develop our children with the necessary skills to not only survive in the world but to thrive in it.
3. CALLING
We must equip our children, helping them to discern, and live out, their unique gifting and purpose in the world.
4. CONFIDENCE
We must instill in our children a healthy belief in themselves, and ultimately a faith in God and what He can accomplish in and through them.
5. COURAGE
We must encourage our children to live lives of bravery and valor.
