Our Homes

We have three (3) Baby Homes: Two (2) in GLenvista and one (1) in Berea / Hillbrow.

All three of our Baby Homes have been registered as Child & Youth Care Centre’s (C&YCC) and have been given the capacity to care for up to 119 babies / toddlers. Baby Houses 1 and 3 are legally allowed to take in up to 50 babies / toddlers and baby house 2 is legally allowed to take in 19.

Unfortunately BH1 and 3 can only accommodate a maximum of 42 and 18 children respectively with our current set up.

This Glenvista Baby Home was our first and is the ‘flagship” Baby House.

We are able to love and care for a maximum of 42 children at this house.

Premature, tiny and special needs babies get placed at this house first as we have three devoted departments: Small Babies, Big Babies and Toddlers; with dedicated staff for each.

Besides accommodating all the precious little lives we care for at this house we also have an Office, our main Store Room, where we receive a lot of our donations, and our International Volunteer Accommodations.

The Berea / Hillbrow Home is situated directly behind the Berea Baptist Mission Church.

It was opened in November 2003 to help accommodate the increasing amount of abandoned babies and children as well as to “man” the Baby Bin / Hole in the Wall.

Although in a dangerous area, it is secure behind an electric fence and high walls. 18 (max) babies can be loved and cared for at this home. The 19th spot is always kept open in case a new arrival gets delivered via the
baby bin.

Baby House 3

This is our newest baby house and also the Head Office. This home used to be our Toddler House, which we unfortunately had to close down in 2010 due to financial constraints. We however re-opened it on the 5th September 2011 due to the increase in babies we had been receiving from various sources.

We comfortably love and care for 12 babies but can go up to a maximum of 18 babies. Even though we had to re-open the home sooner than we had planned to we have been delighted with all our new arrivals since then and this shows we are doing what we have been called to do, SAVE LIVES.
