Door of Hope has been growing faster than we could have planned for which is both a blessing and a huge challenge to maintain.

Our international and local volunteers have played an important role in the success of caring for our children, and as our financial needs grow we are realizing the importance of relying on our volunteers and staff to keep this ministry running smoothly and effectively. In other words, we need you!

So what will be expected of me?

For international candidates , a minimum of a 6 month stay is required for persons 20 years and older.
For local candidates , a 8 hour day shift  at least once a week is required for persons 20 years and older.
South African volunteers must first obtain the following :
Police clearance from you local police station
A sexual offenders clearance from the department of social development (download Form 30 below )
Once received , submit the 2 documents , together with volunteer application form (download below ) , to volunteering@doorofhope.co.za or info@doorofhope.co.za

The daily duties will consist of caring for, changing, feeding and playing with the babies. It will also mean the challenge of coordinating programs to help meet the needs of the children physically, mentally, and spiritually. The work is not easy and the days are long but the rewards are great! The love you give to these children will have a lasting impact on their lives! We are looking for dedicated Christians willing to give up their time to spend 6 months caring for our cherished babies.

6 Month Volunteers

In order to maintain the health of our preemies and newborns we keep all of our small babies separated from the older ones who tend to carry more germs. A lot of our small babies are premature and need to start their lives fighting. These babies require a lot of attention and much patience! Requirements: We are looking for loving and caring volunteers who have some experience with newborns . Nursing experience would be extremely helpful but is not required!

Long term Volunteers

Our volunteers who come for longer than six months will have the option of working in all our different houses but will mainly be required  to help us with our Toddlers ,Small Babies and hospital/clinic visits. Based on your skills and interests we will place you in the department that suits you best.
