Some great fundraising ideas!

If just the idea of running a marathon or cycling a 110km grueling race in the scorching heat leaves you gasping for air, don’t worry – you’re not alone. There are plenty of us at Door of Hope who are awe-struck by some of the incredible athletic feats carried out by some of our supporters, which we read about as we tuck into another giant chocolate-chip cookie.

Thankfully, great fundraisers don’t have to be great athletes. There are plenty of things you can do to raise money for us that don’t involve you breaking into a sweat.

Some fundraising ideas

  • Host a Dinner Party or High Tea
  • Show off your creative side and sell some drawings/paintings
  • Grow a beard or shave  your hair!
  • Bake cakes, cupcakes and muffins and sell them at work or to friends
  • Turn your hobby into a fundraising campaign (Knit jerseys to sell)
  • Or simply just ask your friends to sacrifice that delicious slice of cake and cuppa coffee they’ve been craving all week or that movie they’ve just been dying to see and rather donate R50, £5, $5 to a good cause

For the athletic, adrenaline junkies…

  • Run a marathon or across a desert
  • Cycle a race
  • Do a Bungee Jump
  • Jump from an aircraft
  • Climb a BIG mountain
